Choinka na Rynku Nowego Miasta udekorowana została tradycyjną filipińską gwiazdą betlejemską. W ten sposób Warszawa chce pokazać swoją solidarność z mieszkańcami Filipin, którzy ucierpieli podczas tajfunu. W uroczystości zawieszenia lampionu wzięli udział urzędnicy, a także sami Filipińczycy. - Mieli ze sobą transparenty, na których znajdowały się podziękowania dla Hanny Gronkiewicz-Waltz oraz Bronisława Komorowskiego - relacjonuje Marcin Gula, reporter tvnwarszawa.pl. Gwiazda jest symbolem solidarności z mieszkańcami Filipin, którzy ucierpieli podczas tajfunu. Zniszczył on wyspy w listopadzie.

07 November 2013 – Assistant Secretary for European Affairs Maria Zeneida Angara Collinson welcomed on November 06 a delegation from Poland to discuss the opening of a Polish Embassy in Manila. Director Janusz Bilksi of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that given the upswing of the Philippine economy, it would be beneficial for Philippine-Poland relations to have a permanent presence in the Philippines to enhance political, economic and tourism exchanges. The establishment of a Polish Embassy in Manila would be a milestone for Philippine-Poland relations which are celebrating its 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations. The Philippines is currently under the jurisdiction of the Polish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. Poland maintains Honorary Consulates in Manila, Cebu and General Santos. The Polish delegation will also call on House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte to discuss the creation of a Philippines-Poland Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group. The Group
