New POEA System For Balik-Manggagawa – The Balik-Manggagawa online system will be replaced by a new web-based processing system POEA Online Processing System For Balik-Manggagawa (POPS-BaM). In an advisory effective today June 30, 2021, it was said that this change is a part of POEA continues effort to accelerate the process of issuing Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC)to returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW). The new POPS-BaM system will include the overall functionality of the present Balik-Manggagawa (BM) system and will be transferred to the new system. The previous BM online was deactivated since June 30. Government approves 7.5 pct minimum wage hike from 2022 The Polish government has approved the amount of minimum wage for 2022. Starting from January 2022 the minimum remuneration for work will amount to PLN 3010 (gross). This means an increase by PLN 210 compared to the lowest wage that is in force in 2021 (PLN 2 800).

POEA Warning Against Direct Hiring to Poland The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has issued POEA Advisory No. 76-2021 dated 15 June 2021 warning Filipino workers in the United Arab Emirates, in Taiwan, in the Philippines and in other parts of the Middle East and Asia, against third-country hiring schemes (direct hiring) for deployment to Poland. Under direct hiring, Filipino workers are recruited to work in Poland by unscrupulous recruiters based outside the Philippines, usually by means of attractive social media posts. The workers are asked to pay exorbitant fees, only to later discover that they were promised false employment - nonexistent employers or job positions, jobs that do not match the job description, or poor and sub-standard working conditions.
