Big Night by Jun Robles Lana in the 16th Five Flavours Film Festival

Every year Five Flavours Film Festrival in Warsaw aims to indulge their audience with their favourite filmmakers who marked their presence at the festival in the previous years. For this reason, they came up with the Asian Cinerama section, where the great cinema finds its space for a grand spectacle – both in terms of quality and scale. A careful selection of renowned, award-winning talent, whose body of work is daring, unique, and equally important. Recently, they have revealed the first titles of Asian Cinerama!
Jun Robles Lana returns after seven years to once again take us on a journey through a dark, dangerous night in Big Night, where the pitch-black humour reflects the Filipino reality.

Dharma, a nice, talkative beauty parlor owner discovers that his name appeared on the list of local drug addicts. This means trouble – president Duterte is waging a ruthless war against drugs. The young man needs to find out who put him on the list and who can take him off it. A pitch-black comedy, diagnosing the horrifying reality of modern-day Philippines.

 The 16th Five Flavours Asian Film Festival will be held in a hybrid formula. Films will be screened in Warsaw at cinemas: Muranów and Kinoteka on 16-23rd November; and an online edition will last till December 4th.
