Who is subject to mandatory quarantine? Currently, there are four categories of people who are subject to quarantine: 1. selected categories of foreigners who cross the border of the Republic of Poland which is the external EU border - for 10 days, counting from the day following the day of border crossing; 2. persons who had close contact with an infected person, e.g. at work or school - for 10 days, counting from the day following the contact; and 3. the persons referred to a COVID-19 test - from the day of the referral to the test until a negative test result is obtained, which automatically releases the persons from mandatory quarantine, or automatically after 10 days without COVID-19 symptoms. Legislation does not provide for mandatory quarantine for persons who live with a person who has been referred for a test, both asymptomatic (suspected of COVID-19) and symptomatic (suspected of COVID-19), while that person is waiting for the test result.
