Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) now have an additional fee to pay before they will be given an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) Pag-IBIG Fund and POEA Issue Joint Advisory 01-2022 Reminding OFWs to provide their Pag-IBIG Membership ID Number (MID) in their POEA e-Registration Accounts Since 2009, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) have been covered by Pag-IBIG Fund membership as provided under Republic Act No. 9679. From such time, the Pag-IBIG Fund has been enlisting the help of POEA to make it easier for OFWs to pay their Pag-IBIG contributions. As members, OFWs are able to enjoy Pag-IBIG benefits such as savings with dividend earnings, short-term cash loans and affordable housing loans. These benefits shall serve our OFWs well while working abroad, as well as after their work tenure overseas.
