Pag-IBIG Fund and POEA Issue Joint Advisory 01-2022 Reminding OFWs to provide their Pag-IBIG Membership ID Number (MID) in their POEA e-Registration Accounts
Since 2009, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) have been covered by Pag-IBIG Fund membership as provided under Republic Act No. 9679. From such time, the Pag-IBIG Fund has been enlisting the help of POEA to make it easier for OFWs to pay their Pag-IBIG contributions.
As members, OFWs are able to enjoy Pag-IBIG benefits such as savings with dividend earnings, short-term cash loans and affordable housing loans. These benefits shall serve our OFWs well while working abroad, as well as after their work tenure overseas.
In 2021 alone, Pag-IBIG Fund released P15.32 billion in home loans enabling 12,015 OFWs to acquire their own homes, and over P569 million in cash loans to help 23,831 OFWs with their immediate financial needs. As of 2021, 78,850 OFW members voluntarily save under Pag-IBIG Fund’s Modified Pag-IBIG 2 (MP2) Savings Program, where they earned 6% in dividend returns for the year.
The Joint POEA- Pag-IBIG Fund Advisory released on April 21 (Thursday) reminds all OFWs to provide and encode their permanent Pag-IBIG Membership ID (MID) Numbers in their respective POEA e-Registration System Accounts. This advisory is merely a reminder for them to secure their Pag-IBIG MIDs and indicate the same when they pay or transact with Pag-IBIG Fund. In doing so, OFWs would be assured that their Pag-IBIG savings and loan records are properly recorded, and that they shall have better ease in their transactions with Pag-IBIG Fund.
The advisory also enumerates the many convenient means by which OFWs can secure, or recall, their Pag-IBIG MID numbers. These are as follows:
- OFWs without a Pag-IBIG MID number can secure one via the
- POEA’s e-Registration System, or
