Description:
Gil is an alcoholic. His wife has left him and his son Nico. In his despair, Gil pledges to quit drinking and reunite his family. But before he can make good on his pledge, Gil suffers another blackout, and this one comes with a mysterious and disturbing souvenir – a blood-spattered bumper. Danger is close by, it arises from the self, from the people you trust, from concepts of reality and memory. Deft editing, skilful pacing, and powerful acting put us inside Gil’s mind. We gain a perspective similar to that of his spotty memory. "Blackout" is a thriller that astutely switches between the illusion and reality of everyday Philippine life.
Renato Baustista:
Born in 1980 and raised at San Jose City, Nueva Ecija. Major in Communication Arts in the University of Santo Tomas. Made his first feature "Awaken" in 2005.
