The Balloon Miracle on the Vistula River. A picturesque spectacle commemorating the centenary of the Battle of Warsaw

Between 14 and 16 August, a picturesque spectacle will be held to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of Warsaw – the Balloon Miracle on the Vistula. Hot air balloons will be launched in the morning and evening from several places in Warsaw.

The upcoming weekend will be very special for the residents of Warsaw. For three days in the sky, we will be able to admire beautiful, colorful air-heated balloons. The Balloon Miracle on the Vistula is a picturesque spectacle commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw

– The best balloon pilots in Poland will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw. The event is not a mass event and the organizers’ goal is for the residents of Warsaw to look at the sky with a smile. The participation of balloons in these celebrations is not accidental, as few of us remember that the newly formed balloon troops fought in 1920

The flights will take place from Friday to Sunday in the morning and evening hours. However, it must be remembered that they are weather dependent.

Balloon with a white and red flag

The phenomenal spectacle can be seen on Saturday. The Royal Castle also takes part in the Balloon Miracle on the Vistula. Start of the “fox”, or balloon with a several-meter-long white and red flag, which will be followed by other pilots from the Garden of the Lower Royal Castle, is scheduled for August 15. To see this unique balloon, you have to look at the sky between 17.30 – 18.00. The Montgolfiery replica will be piloted by Mateusz Rękas, winner of, among others Gordon Bennett Cup.
