Government approves 7.5 pct minimum wage hike from 2022
The Polish government has approved the amount of minimum wage for 2022. Starting from January 2022 the minimum remuneration for work will amount to PLN 3010 (gross). This means an increase by PLN 210 compared to the lowest wage that is in force in 2021 (PLN 2 800).In turn, the minimum hourly rate for specific civil law contracts in 2022 will be PLN 19.70 (gross) / PLN 14.30 (net). This means an increase by PLN 1.40 compared to 2021 (PLN 18.30).
What impact do these changes have on the procedure for legalizing a foreigner's stay in Poland on the basis of work? If he or she applies for such residence permit on or after Jan 1, 2021, his or her contract of employment/ mandate must follow above new rules regarding salary.
