On Sunday 22 September, all buses, trams, subways, and commuter trains in Warsaw were free of charge for all passengers. This is how Warsaw celebrated European Car Free Day for the eighth time.
Following a decision of the Warsaw Council, travellers did not have to buy tickets to use public transportation or to get to underground platforms, because the gates were open at all stations. Train companies in and around Warsaw did not demand tickets for travel in the first and second Warsaw ticket zones.
