Polish Army Day (Święto Wojska Polskiego)

Armed Forces Day, known also as the Feast of the Polish Armed Forces (Polish: Święto Wojska Polskiego), is a national holiday celebrated annually on 15 August in Poland, commemorating the anniversary of the 1920 victory over Soviet Russia at the Battle of Warsaw during the Polish–Soviet War.

This year, the military parade (over 2 thousand soldiers and 101 aircrafts) will be held on ‘Wisłostrada’ Street along the Vistula river (Wybrzeże Gdańskie and Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie Streets). The military parade will start at 1 pm next to the Multimedia Fountain Park (Sanguszki Street), and will finish at 3 pm at the intersection with Karowa Street.

The Wisłostrada Street will be closed for car traffic from Most Grota-Roweckiego bridge to Most Łazienkowski bridge (from 11 pm, August 14 until 5 pm, August 15).
