Migrant Center in Gdansk






Immigrants’ Rights Protection Point is open every first Monday of the month from 16.00 to 20.00 at CWII (Immigrant Support Centre).

They provide help people who experience discrimination on the basis of their nationality.

Discrimination in the workplace:
  • Incomprehensible contracts
  • Problems with payments
  • Illegal work
  • Lack of health and safety standards




Issues with accommodation:
  • Lack of a written tenancy agreement
  • Unreasonably large deposits
  • Landlords not returning security deposits

Personal safety:
  • Violence
  • Verbal abuse in the workplace or in public places
  • Problematic communication with the police (e.g. when they do not provide a translator)

Discrimination at school:
  • Not enough extracullicular classes or preparation courses for children





Discrimination at public offices:
  • Officials leaving cases unreviewed, denying you access to your own files, rejecting applications, demanding documents not mentioned in the official list of requirements


Discrimination in health and care services
  • Denying you medical help or a medical examination because you do not have a PESEL number
  • Problems with getting a disability certificate


They also provide help to people who have been living in Poland with children under 18 and after a few months are still waiting for their residence card, as well as those exploited by fraudulent recruiters or job agencies.

Flour types in Poland

Flour type, according to Polish food regulations, means the content of ashes in it (i.e. the remains after complete burning of the organic ingredients in a sample of the product at a determined temperature).
