Financial Assistance for Qualified OFW in Poland

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR QUALIFIED OVERSEAS FILIPINOS IN POLAND DISPLACED DUE TO COVID19

Further to the Embassy’s Advisory on this subject, the Embassy wishes to inform Filipino overseas workers in Poland who have been displaced due to Covid-19 that the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has released the “Guidelines on the Provision of Financial Assistance for Displaced Land-based and Sea-based Filipino Workers Due to the Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) or DOLE- AKAP for OFWs”.

In this regard, please find below details on the implementation in Poland of DOLE-AKAP for OFWs, which have been provided by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Geneva, Switzerland:

1. Ipatutupad ng Philippine Government, sa pamumuno ng DOLE, ang Abot Kamay ang Pagtulong (AKAP) program.

2. ANO ANG AKAP? Ito ay One-time financial assistance na USD200 (o equivalent sa Polish PLN) mula sa DOLE at OWWA para sa qualified na Overseas Filipino.

3. SINO ANG TARGET BENEFICIARY? Ang target beneficiary ay mga Overseas Filipino na active OWWA member (undocumented man o documented), o beneficiary ng Papyrus, o documented worker, na nangangailangan ng tulong dahil lubusan nang nawalan ng trabaho dulot ng COVID-19. Depende sa pondo na ipadadala sa iba’t ibang Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) sa buong mundo, bibigyan ng priority ng POLO-Geneva ang undocumented worker na OWWA member na may matinding pangangailangan ng tulong. Dahil dito, humihingi po kami ng pang-unawa sa lahat. Para sa mga may kakayahan pa, o nakakatanggap pa rin ng sweldo, magbigay-daan tayo sa mga kababayan na tunay nang nangangailangan.

Bilang pagsunod sa patakaran ng Switzerland para mapigilan ang pagkalat ng COVID19, tinitingnan ngayon ang posibilidad ng paggamit ng remittance o cash transfer. Tatawagan ng POLO-Geneva ang mga nag-qualify na Pilipino para sa karagdagang impormasyon.

5. KAILAN ITO MAGSISIMULA? Magsisimula ang distribution sa mga qualified na Overseas Filipino sa oras na dumating ang pondo mula sa Pilipinas.
