Poland’s council of ministers approved two increases to the minimum wage in 2023, the office of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said Sept. 13.
The Polish government has approved the amount of minimum wage for 2023. Starting from January 2023 the minimum remuneration for work will amount to PLN 3 490 (gross). This means an increase by PLN 480 compared to the lowest wage that is in force in 2022 (PLN 3 010).In turn, the minimum hourly rate for specific civil law contracts in 2023 will be PLN 22.80 (gross) / PLN 16.45 (net). This means an increase by PLN 3.10 compared to 2022 (PLN 19.70).
What impact do these changes have on the procedure for legalizing a foreigner's stay in Poland on the basis of work? If he or she applies for such residence permit on or after Jan 1, 2023, his or her contract of employment/ mandate must follow above new rules regarding salary.

From Jul 1st, 2023 the minimum wage will be even higher: PLN 3 545 gross/ month for full time job or PLN 23,50 gross per hour.
