Many of us today are in shock because of the war that broke out just outside Poland’s borders in Ukraine. Russia’s aggression is already causing a lot of humanitarian, social, and property damage, and above all, people are suffering and dying in Ukraine.
Don’t let the feeling of helplessness kill you - this is what you can do to help bring aid to those suffering in Ukraine:
You can support the NGOs:
a. https://www.pah.org.pl/ukraina/ - PAH has had a permanent humanitarian base in Ukraine since Russia first invaded - or here: https://www.siepomaga.pl/pah-ukraina
b. https://crm.ocalenie.org.pl - Ocalenie is well known for its help to refugees - and is now preparing to organize help to Ukrainians who will turn to Poland for help. If you want to help thru PayPal, you can use this link ==> https://crm.ocalenie.org.pl/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=3&lang=pl (in Polish)
c. Polish Center for International Aid - https://www.facebook.com/donate/2948107692167955/4897929046952704/ (Facebook Pay) / https://pcpm.org.pl/ukraina (thru credit card)
d. Pomagam.pl Foundation - https://pomagam.pl/solidarnizukraina/wsparcie/ (Google Pay/PayPal etc)
e. Polish Red Cross - https://pck.pl/wspieraj-nas/
f. Unicef - https://www.facebook.com/donate/462703465452564/10158711221256545 (FB pay)
g. Caritas - https://www.facebook.com/CaritasPL/ (FB Pay)
➡️ Make a donation at: http://caritas.pl/ukraina
➡️ Pay any amount to the account: 77 1160 2202 0000 0000 3436 4384 with bank transfer title "UKRAINE"
➡️ Send a text UKRAINE to 72052 (2,46zł)
As you can see, you have many NGOs and you will surely find one you trust. Just be human - remember for us it’s only money, for people in Ukraine it’s clean water, food, warm blanket, a roof over the head, medicine, health, life... donate today
What else can you do? You can express your support for the Ukrainian people on social media, upload icons, flag colors, etc. - remember that this is important support, but no more important than supporting any of the NGOs
You can become a volunteer and devote your time to work for some NGO - believe me, sometimes even writing posts or pages or answering phones in NGOs is volunteering.
You can take an active part in protests in front of Russian Embassies and Consulates.
The most important thing is not to feel powerless and not to become desensitised to the enormous injustice that is happening already 300 km away from Warsaw.
Reach into your heart and your wallet. In such times, people need money to help other people.
If you have a need or you just want to talk about how you can help, call me - I will be happy to put you in direct contact with people who help on the first line.
