Philippine artist, filmmaker, writer and musician, born in 1973. He graduated from Ateneo de Manila University. He is a founder of the production company Filmless Films. In 1995 he directed his debut feature, “Memory of Forgetting”. He has directed over 150 films. He has served as a jury member at various film festivals, including Berlinale, Clermont-Ferrand, CPH:DOX, Jeonju, Bucheon, Jihlava and DOK Leipzig. His works have been exhibited at MoMA, MAXXI, the Guggenheim Museum, Tate Modern and the Venice Architecture Biennale. “Bamboo Dogs” (2018) is his latest film.

Kryminalny thriller i film drogi, opowiadający o prawdziwej historii filipińskiego gangu Kuratong Baleleng i jego upadku w latach dziewięćdziesiątych. Jest rok 1995, Manila w milczeniu przegniła do samych korzeni. Dzięki dobrze zorganizowanemu syndykatowi zbrodni przestępcy mogą swobodnie spacerować po ulicach w dzień, lub dwa dni po aresztowaniu. Tak byłoby i w przypadku czterech niereformowalnych przestępców, gdyby nie trafili na równego sobie, niewidzialnego przeciwnika. Lepiej nie siadać do stołu, przy którym bogowie grają w kości. Razem z „Bambusowymi psami”, ruszamy w upiorną podróż ulicami Mondomanila, w której tak pomagają, jak szkodzą niewidzialne siły. Kryminał bez zbrodni. Czterej przestępcy, czterech gliniarzy w furgonetce. Najdłuższa jazda w ich życiu.

Filipiński artysta, twórca filmowy, pisarz i muzyk, urodzony w 1973 roku. Ukończył studia na Uniwersytecie Ateneo de Manila. Jest założycielem firmy produkcyjnej Filmless Films. Zadebiutował w 1995 roku filmem pełnometrażowym „Memory of Forgetting”. Wyreżyserował ponad 150 filmów. Był jurorem na wielu festiwalach filmowych, takich jak: Berlinale, Clermont-Ferrand, CPH:DOX, Jeonju, Bucheon, Jihlava czy DOK Lepizig. Jego prace prezentowane były m.in. w MoMa, MAXXI, Muzeum Guggenheima, Tate Modern i na Biennale Architektury w Wenecji. „Bamboo Dogs” (2018) to jego najnowszy film.
